2021 Judged By Our Words Project.
Deadline: October 31, 2021
(NO ENTRY FEE.)
Our ancestors brought forth this fantastic tool the permits us to express ourselves via thought through speech and print. “It’s all about respecting the evolution of the WORD.”
To extract the WORD from the hidden dark crevices of our minds. To give that WORD a place with other words in the minds of readers around the world. “The telepathic WORD!“
We invite authors from around the world to be part of this project.
We will publish one hundred of the 200 WORD short short stories in paperback format. (Amazon.com) And, we will promote the publication through our multiple social media platforms.
Each submission that is accepted for inclusion will be given a page for their 200 WORD short short story along with a 100-WORD bio and image. (You will have your very own page.)
Paste your 200-WORD or less short short story in entry form or in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. (Please do an accurate WORD count. Stories over 200 WORDS will be voided. Please don’t send story as an attachment or your submission will be voided. We will not open attachments.) You may also use this form. CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY.
DO NOT INCLUDE BIO AND IMAGE. We will request, that information if you are selected. Just the title of your short short story and your name should be submitted with the story.
I’m Sonja Cassandra Perdue, Founder of Chicago’s Black Business Network (CBBN). CBBN is a social media management and training organization. That’s how we roll. We provide a platform for small business owners, authors, and other innovators to get their products and services in front of consumers and others who may have an interest.
Recently, I’ve been submitting short short stories to different publications and it appears that I’ve found my niche or an enjoyable new hobby. That led to the launching of this JUDGED BY OUR WORD OPPORTUNITY. (And, I’d like to use the WORD OPPORTUNITY rather than call it a writing contest.) There is no heavy-handed selection process. No fees. It’s just another opportunity for your work to be seen. (And, who would be able to resist?)
Must be 18 years of age or older. International submissions are welcome, in English only.
Two submissions are permitted per entry.
CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY.
PLEASE NOTE: You will be notified by November 15, 2021, whether or not your piece has been accepted for inclusion for publication. (We will not answer questions regarding submissions, including why your piece was not selected.) If you don’t receive any personal emails from us requesting your bio and image, then you will know that your piece was not selected for this round and you are free to enter at a later time for the next publication with an entry fee.
The decision of the judge is final. We definitely will not entertain discussions regarding entry selections. The judge will not be named.
Stories will be placed in the publication in the order received. We suggest that you submit early. Maximum 100 pages will be published but we can choose to publish with fewer pages.
Follow-up submission of bio and image request and interview slots must be completed on schedule or offer is voided.
Once the final 100 pieces have been chosen and the contest officially closed, we will share the winner’s list with all who submitted.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
